Prosthetic Leg Cover Hydro Dipped in Chrome Skulls and Roses
This project is something you don’t see very often. We hydro dipped a prosthetic leg cover using a skulls-and-roses design over a chrome base. a finish that’s notoriously difficult to achieve and a process we’ve refined in-house.
The chrome surface gives the artwork a unique depth and reflectivity, changing character depending on the light. After carefully prepping the cover, we applied the pattern so it flowed cleanly around the curves and openings, keeping the fine detail sharp across the entire piece.
Once dipped, the cover was cleared to protect the chrome and lock in the artwork, resulting in a striking mix of shine, contrast and texture. It’s a rare finish and one that always stands out, especially on a custom prosthetic where personal expression really matters.
