Matte Blue and Black Carbon Motorcycle Parts

This set of motorcycle parts came into our Stone, Staffordshire workshop to be hydro dipped in carbon fibre, with the mudguard and some panels finished in a blue carbon weave and others in a classic black carbon. Both finishes were sealed under a matte lacquer, which gives the weave a soft, satin look that suits many modern bikes better than a high-gloss coat. On the mudguard in particular the blue tone shifts as light moves across the curves, while the black carbon panels keep a more understated, factory-style finish.

Plastic motorcycle parts like mudguards, huggers and side panels are well suited to hydro dipping, because the film follows tight curves, recesses and mounting points without joins. It is a far lighter and more affordable way to get the carbon look than replacing parts with genuine carbon fibre, and it can be matched across a whole bike or used to pick out selected parts in a contrasting colour, as here.
